Digging Deep

By Jay Hogan

Wow – I am not sure what I expected when I read the blurb on this one – take 1 – cop, add in 1-mid wife with Crohn’s disease, and set them in New Zealand, but whatever I expected – it was not what I got.

Published in 2019 it does what few erotic romances do – get real and deal with a topic that many find embarrassing or something to be avoided. Not only does Hogan deal with the topic of Crohn’s disease, they do it with down to earth frankness and humour. The story not only is a romance, but a ‘how to’ guide for dealing with real life issues in any relationship. I find it amazing that this is managed with out dimming the hot and steamy side or the humour.

Hot, sweet, funny, and down to earth; probably the best contemporary romance I have read in a while. Absolutely wonderful characters with real-world fears, needs, drives, and a story line that works on so many levels.

My Meandering thoughts sre simply that – things that pop into my mind – usually when I am reading. Transgressive Elements and Reflected Fantasies that should be are more of a political mussing about our society today and what our fiction reflects about the whole mess.
